      Florent Motsch was born in 1980 in Paris.
      He used to study at the Paris Conservatoire of Music and Dance (CNSMDP), where he obtained :
- a Master's degree of Composition (with the best distinction, class of Frédéric Durieux)
and seven other Prizes of :
- Composition, Orchestration (class of Marc-André Dalbavie), Musical Analysis (class of Alain Louvier), Musical Culture (class of Brigitte François-Sappey), Harmony (classes of Jean-François Zygel and Cyrille Lehn), Counterpoint (class of Jean-Baptiste Courtois) and XXth Writing (class of Edith Lejet).
      He is also qualified by the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne (Bachelor’s degree of  Musicology) and by the  Regional Academy of Music (CRR) of Paris (4 first Prizes in Orchestration, Musical Analysis, Harmony and Counterpoint). 

      From 2010 till 2012, he has been in residence in Casa de Velázquez (Academy of France in Madrid).

      His works have been played in Europe, South America, United States and Japan by :
- the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, the Choir of Radio France, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the NDR Sinfonieorchester (Hamburg), the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg (under the conducting of Peter Eötvös), the Philharmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg, the National Orchestra of Lille, the Colonne Orchestra, the Orchestra of Caen, the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra (CNSMDP).
      He also worked with ensembles such as :
- L’Itinéraire, the Ensemble Cairn, L’Instant Donné, the Ensemble Linea, Proxima Centauri, the Secession Orchestra, the Smash Ensemble, the OrchestrUtopica, the Ukho Ensemble, the Denkmalchor Leipzig, the Dresdner Vokalsolisten, the Neue Vocalsolisten, La Dolce Maniera, the Habanera Quartet, the Atyopsis Duet. 

   He received commissions from Radio France, from the French Ministry of Culture (State commissions) and from various foundations or associations (Mécénat Musical Société Générale, Musique Nouvelle en Liberté).
      These works, broadcasted at many times by France Musique radio, were played during different forums or festivals :
- Présences (Radio France), Voix Nouvelles (Royaumont), Acanthes (Ircam), Aspects des musiques d’aujourd’hui, SaxOpen, City of London Festival, Sounds New, forums of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM).  

      Since 2008, he has obtained several awards :
- Prizewinner of the Beaumarchais Foundation (2013, SACD)
- 1st Prize of the competition Mottini (2013, Ville d’Avray)
